You can take me out of Belgium, but you can’t take the Belgian out of me! I remember walking in the city or being a tourist on the coast and stopping for a sugar waffle, called Liege waffle . The aroma at the waffle stand was almost intoxicating and sure was heartwarming. That was the ultimate afternoon snack.
Over the years I have been making these waffles at home. The reactions I see from the people that eat these, bring me joy. This encourages me to make waffles.
I finally decided to step it up and give everyone the opportunity to enjoy this awesome snack. We use an authentic Belgian recipe, but had to tweak it just a bit based on local supply. One thing that cannot be replaced is the special sugar pearls that we import from Belgium and is the key ingredient of the Liege waffle.
